When left with no other cho*****.they gave one

Yes the rate was high but what could I expect with the issues i had with my credit. I applied for a loan to consolidate and they were one of the few that was there. I REALLY LIKE that I went with Avant -- I went online to complete the load it gave me CHOICES on the final amount and life of loan ! Choosing the months help determine the perfect amount i was going to be charge on a monthly basis. I even got a call afterwards to make sure i understood the loan and if i had any questions.

Poor System

I got a pre approval letter in the mail for a loan. Since I am trying to pay for some final things on my wedding, I went ahead and applied for it. It came back saying that I was pre approved for 13,500. But you could decrease that amount which I did since I did not need anywhere near that amount. The interest rate was no higher than a lot of credit cards (36%), so I read and signed the contract and then I submitted my bank information for payments. When I hit submit, it came back saying the system was down. So I called, they said to just check back after a couple hours. When I did, it came up saying I had been pre-approved for a credit line of 3600. Ummm, what about the loan I applied for? Checked my email, and had an email denying me the loan I had already signed a contract for and given my bank account info for...sketchy! So I call and I'm told that I was not approved for the loan, but was again pre approved for this line of credit. So still needing the money, I decided to do it (interest rate is now stupid at 60%, but I figure the wedding is less than 2 months away, and afterwards I'll just pay off the credit line). So again, I sign the contract and it takes me to a page wanting to verify my income. You can either give them your banking login information (SUPER SKETCHY!) or you can upload your pay stub. That option doesn't work, so again, I call, and I'm told it's best just to give the login info. I decline and then they state that actually there is no verification documents needed from me. I joked that they must have decided to decline the line of credit since I was refusing to give them access to my bank account. I was told I would hear from them within 24 hours. So I guess we'll see how this plays out.

Dear Stacey, We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your experience. We certainly understand your frustration. Please be advised that all pre-approvals are subject to verification of the information that you provide during the application process. Approval is based on a number of factors including your credit score, repayment history, debt to income ratio, etc. Please be advised that as a part of our approval process we use an industry-standard online verification tool to securely connect to financial institutions to verify your reported income and to guard against fraud. The online verification tool is widely used by over 600 leading financial institutions and 50 million consumers. We do not store, share, access, or view your personal log-in details at any time. We do also offer alternative verification methods (for example, the documents you mentioned) for those customers that choose not to use our industry-standard online verification tool to securely verify income. We definitely want to look into what happened here with your account. Very Disappointed

I applied through Lending Tree and was matched to one company, Avant Credit, however I had to contact the lender directly. When I called they apologized but said that regardless of what Lending Tree said, they were not extending any credit options to me and could not tell me why.

Prompt, easy approval process

I applied for the loan late one afternoon and had funds in my bank account the next morning. Yes, the interest rate is high but with no prepayment penalty, the interest paid can be substantially reduced. My credit score is not great, so the interest rate was not a surprise. Would recommend Avant for someone looking to consolidate debt with the ability to pay above the payment amount each month for a quicker pay off.

IT BUGS, No real follow up, collection calls

My problem is much like the poster from July 6th, experiencing IT issues.... I borrowed from AvantCredit in January 2014 for $2500.00. Payments were set automatically to withdraw with my bank account , as was required when the initial loan was set up. My bank account is a separate, personal account I keep with very little activity. It is not my main account and I do not log into it on a regular basis. The automatic payments were made, as contracted. In late May, I called Avant Credit and spoke to one of their representatives to find out how to make a final payment and what my payoff was. I then went online to enter my payoff request. Avant Credit showed my final payment would draft on June 4th in the amount of $2200.17. Later that day I received an e-mail from Avant confirming my final payment details, but now the amount provided showed as, $2190.19 to draft on June 4th. I ensured to have the higher amount in my account, not knowing which might draft. Neither amount ever debited from my bank. I went to Avant to log into my account and it told me I did not have a loan, so no transaction or account history was available for me to review. I then went to my e-mails from Avant and read that it could take up to 10 days for my account to show paid status and to confirm funds had cleared. So, I waited believing that Avant would eventually pull the funds from my account. On June 17th, I received an email from Avant stating that I had paid my loan in full, along with a copy of my contract stamped “Paid in Full”. On June 25th, I began receiving collection calls from Avant. I was alarmed and went back to log into my Avant account and discovered that I could now view my account history, which showed a payoff on June 4th for $2200.17 and a new loan had been issued to me on June 9th for $2500.00! I never applied for this loan and no new loan proceeds were ever credited to my bank account. I contacted Avant and received an e-mail from them stating they had issued the paid in full contract back to me in error and they confirmed in the e-mail that I had only applied for the one loan in January. They said the final payment never drafted due to technical issues. They said they would honor the $2190.19, if I would provide them with my current bank statement by the July 17th. First of all, I am not applying for a loan- Avant has my current and correct bank routing and account information to debit the $2190.19. I should not have to provide them with anything else, since this was their system issue and nothing I failed to do for the loan to process. Also, now because of the “new” June 9th loan, I cannot enter a payoff request online because the amount they are reflecting is at the higher loan amount, that I should not be responsible to pay. I am worried about this effecting my credit and it has stressed out me and my spouse who has become aware of the issue. We have been working on building a good credit profile. I am now receiving numerous calls and collection emails and no real response from the lender to resolve this!

Thank you for leaving this feedback. We are very sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your experience. We would very much like to look into your account but will need more details to do so. Please contact us at [email protected] and a senior member of our operations team will reach out to you shortly after the account is reviewed. Sincerely, AvantCredit 640 N LaSalle St, Suite 535 Chicago, IL 60654
