Pushy to the point of harassment

When Wyndham called me, we quickly ascertained that they would be unable to help me. They continued to call, email and harass me even after I asked them to stop. They could not offer me a loan, but they would not stop harassing me. If I didn't answer the phone, they left me a long voice mail. Daily. It was aggressive salesmanship at its worst. When I asked them to stop, they blamed me, stating I didn't take the right steps to avoid spam emails and repeated spam calls. Apparently -I- have to call -them- at a special number to get them to stop calling and emailing me.

No response after 2 days, but did get spam emails.

No response from Chad after 2 days. He did manage to add me to his automated email list and send me emails about Wyndham without responding to my personal request. If their services are like their communication, i would stay away.

If you look the reviews are turning negative

When I first started the process they seemed fairly good. At the process continued the rep would not return my call and when they did they were sarcastic. The rate changed drastically. Information provided was kind of correct (you definitely have to watch with this company). I ended up ditching the whole thing and changing companies.

Worse than telemarketers

Wyndham's agents called my cell relentlessly, at all times of day or night, sometimes calling repeatedly in succession. A very unprofessional, high pressure approach. Look elsewhere.

go elsewhere

It took 3 months, during which time I was repeatedly asked for documentation that was already provided to them.

A Major Disappointment

We have been Costco members for 20 years, and so we trusted their mortgage program with Wyndham Capital. I am sorry to report that Costco picked a loser this time around. Believing Wyndham's initial sappy sales pitch, we applied for refinancing on our home. They required us to upload boatloads of financial documents to their e-portal (far more than I have ever had to do in my five previous mortgages -- scanning endless pdfs and uploading it all online was a real hassle). Along the way, their clerical staff made numerous errors, and getting straight information was nearly impossible. After being slow, unresponsive and delaying our loan processing for several weeks, Wyndham's underwriters began to review our appraisal. First, they said the railing on our back deck didn't look right and would have to be rebuilt before they would proceed with the application. (For your own background, this is a $350,000 custom home we built ourselves in 2006, located in the best neighborhood in our small town.) Several days later, Wyndham disputed the validity of our property appraisal and issued a field review. The appraisal had been done by a well established local firm with an excellent reputation. Based on their "experts'" opinion from 600 miles away in North Carolina, Wyndham came back and claimed our $350,000 appraisal was no good, and that the home was really worth only $280,000. Of course, that killed the deal. From the time we applied to the time of loan denial, the staff at Wyndham allowed nearly two months to elapse -- all the while sending us sappy e-mails reminding us of how we were number one and how great their customer service is. It's a funny thi*****.two weeks after the loan denial, I checked with my hometown bank. They gladly accepted our appraisal (noting the appraiser's strong reputation) and issued us the same loan with closing costs under $500 -- about one-sixth of what Wyndham Capital tried to charge us. Here is what I learned: visit your local banks and real estate experts first for a good home mortgage. The difference is, they know your local market and care about you as the consumer, unlike this outfit. Sorry, Costco -- Wyndham Capital is a loser. Heed my words of advice and steer clear of this plastic corporation!

Poor Service

My experience with Wyndham has not been good. Mistake one. I had advised them when I went through the process that the flooring would be finished concrete. Initially I was told that the underwriter would not approve. I started the loan process with another lender and called to tell them that I was not proceeding with Wyndham. Surprise, Surprise. The underwriter all of a sudden had okayed the floor which I had explained was the foundation slab. Mistake two. The loan processor would not return my calls unless she needed something. The first email I got from her was a page long asking for items which I had already provided. No worries, I got them to her again. No communication again for a while and my loan was stuck in limbo. On the occasions I reached out to the loan officer that I was not hearing back from the processor, I'd get a one line email that I was not being ignored and she was busy. Seemed to be the case 95% of the time. Mistake three. Despite updated statements from banks, credit cards etc. they did not communicate when the credit supplements or checks are ordered. Same for the appraisal. Guess what the balance is going to be if they order the appraisal two days before checking your credit card balance? Mistake 4. This is my mistake completely,. I trusted them when they said they were getting things done when I kept seeing no progress. They did not write down the correct closing date, they did not finish my paperwork up to the day in advance of my closing, they had the wrong down payment listed and left me a message that they couldn't approve the loan because they needed to see more cash in my accounts, they adjusted the down payment percentage without asking for my permission because of their mistake and apparently did not have the appraisal finished 'because of the floor'. I had to contact the loan processors supervisor before any progress was made. The fact remains that they waited until the last minute for everything and did not go through the process as they should have. I don't have a problem going through another lender. I already had paperwork with them that they let me continue with, but I wasted my time and money on Wyndham. Beware that they do have a habit of telling you what you want to hear. Deal with Wyndham at your own risk. Their rates are not unique anyhow.
