Late to the Dance

Never heard from these guys in person, emails only. Never discussed rates or closing costs, had already locked with other vendor by the time these folks contacted me.

not an offer; I had to do all the work

Positive: I got an email message from a real person with a direct phone number, and he followed up by phone a couple of days later. Negative: The email message basically said, "Come fill out the mortgage application on our web site and we'll show you some rates." That's not an offer, in my opinion.

Mixed Feelings

Wyndham was very good at the beginning when we had chosen them. After reporting income, etc, the offered a pre-approval letter without hassle and everything seemed to go without a problem. When we picked a condo and signed the paperwork with our developer, things went sour after Wyndham dragged their feet and misdirected an appraiser that had to come to the property 3 different times to get additional information needed for underwriting. Slowly the 30 day closing date was approaching and communication between the originator and me was sub par. We missed the 30 day closing by 2 weeks despite many urgent requests, they seem to not realize the situation. It seems ODD that someone with a 780 FICO score, 20% down traditional mortgage couldn't close in a timely fashion and it made me look bad to developer. Despite the frustrations, things that were positive were the lower closing costs and rate. Also towards the end, Michelle and Judy really came through in the last couple days before closing working very diligently. In summary, responsiveness is sub par. They started well and ended well but the underwriting phase lacked polish and professionalism.

slow

We really enjoyed the contact person we spoke with. He was extremely knowledgeable and took a lot of time to explain things to us as we are first time homebuyers. However, he was hesitant, to say the least, to communicate through email and wanted only to communicate via phone, which did not work with our schedules. Also, he took more than a couple of weeks to get back to us on information to pre qualify. We ended up going with LSI Mortgage Plus and Jill W and glad we did because we were in the last phase of homebuying (waiting on appraisal) when Wyndham Capital finally got back about prequalifying.

Very mixed

Initially, I had confidence that Drew Fisher (sales) would provide very high customer service. You could tell he really wanted my business and fought for it, including the promise to float down for free. However, once I locked a rate, he was very wishy-washy when I asked about floating down and kept saying, "We're not there yet," even though I know rates did go down. So that was empty promise #1. He also committed to getting my loan approved in a timely manner, as I needed to remove loan contingencies in 14 days. However, they were late in getting an appraiser (it took a week!), and then the appraiser had errors on their report. So I barely made my deadline within 2 hours. This was needlessly stressful. Failed promise #2. Jessica was great working with the paperwork and was prompt and courteous. But once the loan was approved, I couldn't reach Drew. Prior to me locking, he would answer all calls and emails immediately. But afterwards, he either took days to respond or didn't respond at all. He got his commission, so he was done. I would NOT recommend using Wyndham. They have a good online interface, but I felt that some of their employees lack integrity. I did work with 6 lenders prior to locking, but I would recommend trying elsewhere next time.
